************************************************************ I want to comment on one of the videos that is embedded in this browser section of tributes to our country and troops. While it is objectionable and without question has been planted in these honorable videos by one of our enemies, I feel it is important to keep it here to show all of us the type of human beings we are up against in this war on terror. Our troops are under attack in this video and are praying to God to rescue them. For the terrorists, their perspective is that our troops are cowards for praying to God. Courageous men pray to God. Courageous men are not without fear, but the fact that they are facing that fear and accepting that the God of all mankind is there with them is what makes them courageous. Cowards are those who blow up innocent children and adults along with themselves. Cowards go forward and willingly take innocent lives to further their corrupt and evil agendas. Cowards have succumbed to the evil one and have been seduced by their own demonic and egotistical agendas. Cowards are the terrorists and terrorist-supported nations who we fight in this war on terror. Make no mistake about it, terrorists are cowards. God Bless America and all nations who are courageous enough to stand up to the cowards of terror. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 1ST MARINE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE AT CAMP PENDLETON, CALIFORNIA FOR RECENTLY RECEIVING THE PRESIDENTIAL UNIT CITATION FOR ACTIONS IN OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM FROM MARCH 21 TO APRIL 24, 2003. ************************************ ************************************ ********************************** January-2005 Congratulations on your promotion, Sargeant Jason K. Drake, USMC Reserves +++++++++++++++++++++ LOOK TO GOD AND PRAY If things don't seem to go your way, just look to God and pray. And if you've troubles through the day, just look to God and pray. He's always there to answer you, to give you help in all you do. So, if your day is going wrong, just look to Him with your heart's song. You'll find an answer to your prayer. Just look to Him, He's always there. Debbie-Kaye Drake *********************************************** "EMBRACE THIS GOD-LIFE. REALLY EMBRACE IT, AND NOTHING WILL BE TOO MUCH FOR YOU....THAT'S WHY I URGE YOU TO PRAY FOR ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING, RANGING FROM SMALL TO LARGE. INCLUDE EVERYTHING AS YOU EMBRACE THIS GOD-LIFE, AND YOU'LL GET GOD'S EVERYTHING." MARK 11:22-24 ****************************************** I love an eloquent speaker. There has never been, in my opinion, a more eloquent speaker than our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The following are some of the more meaningful words spoken by some of our leaders of present and past. Sometimes eloquence comes unexpectedly and from the unlikely. Our current President, George W. Bush, has been criticized for his perceived lack of eloquence. Nevertheless, he has a very persuasive way of piquing our interest and I find his style very sincere. Sometimes eloquence is not found in the flowery words of the high intellect, but in the humble words of the average man. Debbie-Kaye Drake, October 20, 2003 ************************************ "I shall need, too, the favor of that Being in whose hands we are, who led our fathers, as Israel of old, from their native land and planted them in a country flowing with all the necessaries and comforts of life; who has covered our infancy with His providence and our riper years with His wisdom and power, and to whose goodness I ask you to join in supplications with me that He will so enlighten the minds of your servants, guide their councils, and prosper their measures that whatsoever they do shall result in your good, and shall secure to you the peace, friendship, and approbation of all nations." Thomas Jefferson ********************************* "I just thought it was the right thing to do." Marx Lenten Litchfield, my father (When asked why he joined the United States Army in 1941 and was sent to the European Theater to fight the evil of Nazism during WWII.) Debbie-Kaye Drake ************************************** "I don't want to be average. I want to do something that matters." Jason K. Drake, my son (When asked why he wanted to join the United States Marine Corps in 2000.) Debbie-Kaye Drake ********************************* "I am sure that never was a people, who had more reason to acknowledge a Divine interposition in their affairs, than those of the United States; and I should be pained to believe that they have forgotten that agency, which was so often manifested during our Revolution, or that they failed to consider the omnipotence of that God who is alone able to protect them." President George Washington ******************************** The whole inspiration of our civilization springs from the teachings of Christ and the lessons of the prophets. To read the Bible for these fundamentals is a necessity of American life. --Herbert Hoover ********************************* "...We here in America, hold in our hands the hope of the world, the fate of the years; and shame and disgrace will be ours, if in our eyes the light of high resolve is dimmed, if we trail in the dust the golden hopes of men." President Theodore Roosevelt ******************************** "Anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strength." CHARLES SPURGEON ****************************** "The fundamental basis of this nation's law was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teaching we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, from Isaiah and St. Paul." President Harry Truman ***************************** "The right to freedom being the gift of the Almighty...The rights of the colonists as Christians...may be best understood by reading and carefully studying the institution of The Great Law Giver and Head of the Christian Church, which are to be found clearly written and promulgated in the New Testament." Samuel Adams, "The Father of the American Revolution" ***************************************** "Let every nation know; whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and success of liberty." "The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all who serve it; and the glow from this fire can truly light the world." "And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world, ask not what America will do for you, what together we can do for the freedom of man." President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Inaugural Address ******************************* "We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of heaven; we have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity; We have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown. But, we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace and multiplied and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these things were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us." President Abraham Lincoln ********************************************* "Freedom is not the United States' gift to the world, but God's gift to humanity." President George W. Bush ******************************** "Trust your hunches. They're usually based on facts filed away just below the conscious level." Dr. Joyce Brothers ********************************** "In the swift rush of great events, we find ourselves groping to know the full sense and meaning of these times in which we live. In our quest of understanding, we beseech God's guidance. We summon all our knowledge of the past and we scan all signs of the future. We bring all our wit and all our will to meet the question: How far have we come in man's long pilgrimage from darkness toward the light? Are we nearing the light--a day of freedom and of peace for all mankind? Or are the shadows of another night closing in upon us?" President Dwight D. Eisenhower *********************************** The spirit of Liberty is not, as multitudes imagine, a jealousy of our own particular rights, but a respect for the rights of others, and an unwillingness that any one whether high or low, should be wronged or trampled underfoot." William Ellery Channing ********************************************
