Debbie,

I’m not sure if you are the person who has a son in the armed services that wrote “Mom’s War log”, but I hope this gets to you…

I just wanted to take the time to thank your son, and thank you for sharing your thoughts. I know having him over there must be very difficult for you all. I pray he comes home safely and soon.

Please, let him know there are many of us, although you don’t get to hear it much in the news, which are forever grateful to our troops over there. We understand exactly what’s going on and why this “War on Terrorism” is so important!

I am a 45 year old man who was brought up in a very “Democrat” household. But to see how the ‘Dems’ are acting about this War makes me sick! I have left that political party after nearly 30 years! They no longer are the Party of Roosevelt or John Kennedy, and I feel abandoned by them. So, now I am a registered Republican, more patriotic than I’ve ever been, and very thankful for men like your son.

I think even more importantly… I teach my children how important it is to support those brave men and women who are putting our country before themselves.

I can never thank you enough, for your sacrifice.

God’s speed,
Mike Martin

Hi Debbie,
I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your contribution to the support of our troops via your website. I was looking on-line for websites that encourage prayer for the Armed Forces and I came across yours. What captured me was your picture of the Marines with Psalm 91. This has always been one of my favorite Psalms but this time it had a different significance when related to this war. My son is in the Air force and is currently out there in the Middle East. I am not certain of his exact location. I wanted to ask if you would mind me duplicating what you created for the Airmen. Unfortunately, I am not as talented and would find struggle with creating something like this (I'm not computer savvy). Let me know if this is okay with you. It would be nice to duplicate and forward to people to remind them to pray.

Anyway, I hope that people everywhere are encouraged to pray as prayer is what's most needed and helpful during these difficult times. Please write me back and let me know if it's okay tp use your idea.

Hello My name is Christine Friel, I am a freshman at Cabrini College, in Philadelphia. I am a part of our activism committee. While the committee has been doing mostly anti-war protests, and peace rallies I have been organizing the other side of the street so to speak. I believe in war, and most importantly, peace, I think in order to achieve peace we need to defend ourselves, and support the troops in their operations.

I am attempting to start a yellow ribbon campaign, and in order to do this I need a place to send the money. if you could direct me to a place that I can send it to I would be most appreciative. I want to send it to an organization that will help families of the troops, both domestic and overseas.

thank you peace chris

A TRUE STORY ABOUT ANSWERED PRAYER

Several weeks ago, through the website of The Presidential Prayer Team, I "adopted" a member of the Armed Forces to pray for daily during this time of war. I have prayed daily (early and often!) for "my" adopted Marine.

Last night I returned home from work and turned on my television set for war updates. In progress was a battlefield interview from Iraq conducted by embedded correspondent Kerry Sanders. Kerry was speaking with a wounded young Marine who, surrounded by medics, lay on a stretcher on the ground "somewhere in the Iraqi desert."

Fortunately, the brave young man appeared to be in fair condition despite a wound in the arm/hand. To my astonishment, I heard Kerry refer to the wounded Marine as "Josh," which just happens to be the name of my "adopted" Marine.

"It can't be," I said to myself, "it just can't be!" After all, there must be hundreds of Marines named "Josh." But, incredibly, the young Marine IS "my Marine!" As the interview proceeded Kerry mentioned the Marine's last name, and YES, the young Marine IS indeed the Marine I pledged to pray for daily (and did, particularly at about the time he was under fire).

I am overjoyed that "my Marine" has come through a fierce encounter near Nasiriyah alive, and though wounded, will recover. I'd like to think that my prayers may have helped Josh as he fought in the desert of Iraq a day or so ago.

Subject: Jesus Standing At the Door - Pray for the Middle East

I have had a recurring vision of Jesus, standing at the door of the Middle East. During worship yesterday I had it again. Jesus is about to step into that region in all His Glory. In my mind's eye He is standing at the door in His broken and bloody body...in His body that was broken for us and in His blood that was shed for us.

How long must the Arab people be deceived, angry and jailed by religious spirits. They are so very poor! Jesus wants to enter their world and set the captives free. Please be praying for the Middle East that God's purposes may be worked out during this very volatile time. Pray that God would break the backs of their captors and set them free. The King of Glory is coming into the Middle East!!!

Can you please send me a yellow ribbon to proudly display? I want to get this going in my neighborhood. If you have a few to spare, I have 3 neighbors who want them too! I have forwarded your website to everyone I know. What a blessing - my husband and I were wondering what we could do in addition to flying our flag to let people know we support "our" troops.

I want people to know how blessed they are to sit at their dinner table with their families and eat in peace. It is because of our military past, present, and future! While I am not a big supporter of the war, I believe with all my heart that now that the decision is made, you stand up and praise the men and women who are fighting to keep our land free!! End Game
Yes, it is completely about oil, to France, Russia and Germany.
History has made strange bed fellows, the mattress an envied enemy.

“We speak for the children of Iraq. The ones who will suffer we support.
Oh Dear, too many rallies, no time. In the child’s best interest let’s abort.”

Hollywood has taken a limo, to a “No Blood for Oil” protest.
Off should go the idiot box,if hypocrisy is what you detest.

The former speaks “U.N. Permission.” On Terror he was “Let’s wait and see.”
Yet, the bombs rained down on Kosovo, without resolution or decree.

Fifteen, Sixteen, Seventeen and counting, enough strapless resolutions.
Each only forces Miss America to,International Prostitution.

Do you have any weapons? Go Fish. Inspections don’t cut it, never will.
Few token cards placed on the table, while under, the deck is shuffled still.

Backlash Sleepers strike here and abroad. A real time blood fest, for the long haul.
The scenarios are worth facing, to prevent an A-Bomb on the Mall.

No, Saddam links not with Al-Qaeda. They interpret a different Koran.
Could Anti’s truly be that Naive, For God’s sake, they have the exact plan.

America, I agonize too, Someone I love is in the force.
Let us all show support for our troops. Pray the President steers the right course.

Debbie: My son-in-law was deployed to Korea in January. Our young men and women have our prayers daily. We have a Godly man in the White House who is not ashamed of his faith. It is a good day to be American! I also get the messages from the Presidential Prayer Team and have "Pray for America" tag on my big Chevy truck. Also, I have a small wooden cross from Israel hanging on my mirror in that same truck. America and Israel hand in hand! God Bless You and Yours! Sandy Parker.

Thanks so much for your wonderful website. Prayer is the answer! I don't like war any more than the next person. But I feel it is so important to support our troops. Thanks again for your site. P.S. I'm an Army veteran. (Unsigned-only email address not to be published)

Debbie: I just found your site this morning as I was searching for prayers for our troops. Congratulations on making such a terrific website! I enjoyed it so much and I sent it along to my family and friends. I pray that God will bless you and your family, including your son in service. I also love Psalm 91 and take it to heart. Thanks so much. Shannon, Jasper, GA.

Debbie: You blessed me. To God be the glory. This morning as I began my weekly routine of planning for the Preschool Sunday School lesson. As I prayed and read God's word, I asked God to lead me in His ways. The Southern Baptist Sunday School material is prepared many months in advance. But God's soveriegn hand was most certainly on this lesson. Today, March 18, 2003, a time when we are faced as a nation to trust God's guidance in a possible war against Iraq. The Sunday School lesson main scripture is PSALM 91 and 1 Samuel 7. As I waited for the LORD to reveal His plan, I felt him lead me to have children make picture frames and put pictures of soldiers in them. At the bottom of the frame is a label which reads, "Psalm 91" Security under God's Protection". Then I went on the internet to find some pictures of soldiers currently serving in our armed forces. That's when I came across your link. A true Divine appointment of God. Again, written months ago (Jan. '03), for such a time as this. I too have a son who is ready and willing to serve his country. He recently completed basic training in the Army National Guard of Louisiana. His unit just returned from a deployment. He would go today if they called him. My husband served 17 years in the Air Force Special Forces, and in Desert Storm. We are now retired in Denham Springs, LA but he too would go today and willingly fight with our troops. I will be presenting your poem and message this Sunday. My prayer is that every child will reach their family members and commit to prayer for our nation, president and troops for as long as it takes. Thank you and may our God Almighty lead us. Hello Debbie: I love the site. I was taken to the page about sending care packages to those that don't have family to send them items. I am in a burb of Chicago, and have yet to find any information here, on how to send this stuff. Would you possibly know of an organization that would be able to help me with this. I would LOVE to take care of someone that is defending everything I cherish!!! Thank you so much for your time. and God Bless!!! Shiobhan Kelly (NOTE: Please email debbie@prayeristheanswer.com if you have any info I can pass on to Shiobhan for contacts in the Chicago area. Thanks. Debbie.)

Dear Debbie,
I consider myself very fortunate to have discovered your webpage. I graduated from Canyon High School in Anaheim Hills and am currently a freshman film production student at the USC School of Cinema/Television.

The climate here is much colder, morally and spiritually, than it was back home.
I find especially little solace in the arena of film, where a special "Hollywood" brand of spiteful narcissism pervades much of our filmic culture. A large and powerful part of the university community is also very negative and generally vindictive towards America and yes, even toward our brave soldiers.

This is not to say that there are not good, upstanding people here; there are. But when the most vocal among us are crying for brave men such as your son to "end their disgraceful actions," it is to people like you that I must turn to. I find much comfort in your words, strength in knowledge of your son's service, and inspiration in your outlook. Thank you and God bless you.

Sincerely, Mike Lee

Hi, Debbie-

Thank you for rallying people in our So. Cal. community who need someone to give them a forum to support our great country, our brave soldiers and our prayerful Commander-in-Chief.

Please tell me the time we should come to the City of Brea to give thanks to our troops.  I can get more people from LA to come the sooner you get back to me.  You are a Godsend.  I so much appreciate you making God the focus of your website.  My family owns KBRT, a Christian radio station in Costa Mesa, AM 740.

Blessings, Kim Crawford

Debbie I would like to invite you and your family and friends to the
corner of Imperial Hwy and Brea Blvd to show our support for our
troops.
My family and I joined others last weekend and it went very well. We
had many people thank us, including two young marines who had just returned
from Iraq. Bring your signs and your flags and wear your red, white and
blue. There is a young man who started these" Support our Troop"
rallies three weeks ago and is going to continue until our troops are home. He
is asking for as much help as possible because the antiwar protesters do
not understand what he is trying to do and they keep harassing him. We have to keep the love and prayers going. If it is not possible to be there
please drive by and honk in support. God bless your son and we hope to
see you there.  Susan-Costa Mesa, California

Dear Debbie;
I just read you website while surfing the internet looking for a way to email the troops in Kuwait.  My husband called from work and is concerned about the anti-war rhetoric  and how it might affect the lives of those men and women in uniform.  Do you have any idea how we might be able to gather together a multitude of people to support our President and troops?  I have no idea of who to email etc. etc. etc.
I downloaded the copy of your "prayer", and the picture and Psalm 91 (one of my favorite scirptures.)  I plan to make copies of it and pass them out, and put them on bulletin boards in laudro-mats, and feed stores in our area.
We live in northern California in a real rural area.  But we sure would like to support you onot only in our prayers, but in anyway that God would lead us.
If you have any suggestions we would certainly welcome them.  Both my husband and I are Christians and  big believers in prayer.  I think of that scripture in Isaiah were God was looking for someone to "stand in the gap."  Just one person, but HE didn't find one, and had to bring judgment into the situation.

God bless you, your family and your precious son serving his country.
"in Christ"  Mike and Karen, Northern California
