And the toll just keeps on rising, the price we pay to keep our nation free.
How many nights did they lie waiting, wondering if they would be the ones....
The sacrifices we give to other nations, the precious lives of our own sons.
I wonder why we have no names or photos. Surely they deserve that dignity.
If they were standing here in front of us, would we have the strength to tell them that their homes they'd never again see?
Some say they knew the chances. I say they were all so young. Idealism and youth go hand in hand. Often taken for granted are those who make a stand.
So, one a day, they give their lives. Some leave behind children and wives.
Please don't forget the "One A Day" who sacrificed so safe you'll stay.
Maybe if we all would say a prayer, just "One A Day" to show we care.
God bless our troops so far away, help us to thank you for each day that we are safe
in our homeland. God Bless those who sacrifice for their fellow man.
