This page is dedicated to my sons, Jason and Jonathan Drake, who both have made the decision to serve their country, each in his own way. The following poem is dedicated to my sons; my nieces Andee and Tina; and my nephew, Brett; and to all those who have served and are now serving our country in the United States Armed Forces. My heart and prayers go out to all those families who have lost their loved ones in this current war on terror on two fronts, "Operation Iraqi Freedom" and "Operation Enduring Freedom". Please remember their sacrifices and keep our brave sons and daughters in your prayers. May God Bless you all and comfort you with His love. May God Bless our President, our people, and may God Bless America. |

| Somebody's son had to wear the grey, and somebody's son wore the blue. Somebody's son died on a beach in France. Somebody's son broke through. Somebody's son rose to the challenge in Vietnam, and gave the battle his all. Somebody's son came home a hero, and his name is on the wall. Somebody's son fought on the Korean peninsula in the name of liberty. Somebody's son waged a valiant fight at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Somebody's son took up the fight against terror in the mountains of Afghanistan. Somebody's son is still fighting there, for love of his fellow man. Somebody's son weathered war in the deserts of Iraq. Somebody's son gave his life there, to keep our homeland free from another attack. Somebody's son will always stand for freedom, and go beyond the measures of his time. Yes, somebody's son will serve today. And this time he is mine. Debbie-Kaye Drake, March 23, 2003 |
